Diploma In Loss Control and Management

1.PATHWAY

The Diploma in Loss Management is theoretical part of the Advanced Diploma in Loss Management programme which leads to the award of the Certified Loss Manager (CLM) qualification. The programme curriculum specifically embraces all aspects of loss management and of occupational safety and health studies. The first group of students for this upgraded programme started lectures in 2015. The programme is offered on fulltime, block release and distance basis by accredited colleges internationally.

2.WHO CAN ENROL

Applicants should have:

At least 2 "A" Level passes. Normal entry students only.

Mature entry provision is available for applicants with any 5 'O' levels including Mathematics and English and are over 21 years. Or

Have at least 3 "O" Level passes and at least 2 years work related experience at supervisory level and proven numeracy capability.

Special entry is available to applicants with diploma or degree qualification approved by the institute or police or defence staff college qualification for police and military officers.

Exemptions

Zimbabwe Institute of Management Advanced diploma in security management graduates qualify for exemptions on a subject for subject consideration. Other approved subjects also qualify for exemption.

3.EMPLOYMENT AREAS

Graduates from this programme qualify for employment consideration as Loss, Occupational Safety and Health, Auditors or Risk Officers public and private institutions.

4.RECOGNITION OF THE QUALIFICATION

The ICLM Diploma in Loss Management meets the SADC Qualification Standards Framework (QSF) and international benchmarks. It is accredited by Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology Development as second stage of the Advanced Diploma in Loss Management.

6.EXAMINATIONS

Examinations are set and marked by the Institute of Certified Loss Management (ICLM) in line with SADC (QSF), MOHESTD, International approved standards and quality benchmarks and the Institute's by-laws.

7.REGISTRATION

Students have to meet entry requirements and study the prospectus carefully before making a decision to enrol on the programme.
